What is a Clean Install?
Graphical issues such as stuttering and low framerate may be caused both by the version of the driver you are using, but also by application or system-specific setting stored within the graphics card driver configuration information. These stored settings can be cleared by performing what we call a Clean Install of your drivers.

Performing a Clean Install for NVIDIA Users
When installing NVIDIA drivers the Clean Install option is only available when selecting the Custom (Advanced) installation option, shown here.
On the next page, the user can now choose to Perform a clean installation.
Performing a Clean Install for AMD Users
Within the AMD installer this checkbox is called Factory Reset (Optional). Checking this during the installation of drivers will erase any application specific settings that have been set by either you or the drivers themselves.
