If you are attempting to update from an installation of iRacing that was made before June 11, 2025, and own most or all content, it is possible the updater could become stuck and display the message Waiting for iRacingService .... This could happen during the download or after the download has completed and the updater is attempting to update files.
If this occurs, one of the following options should allow you to proceed with the update.
Option 1
- Open a command prompt by clicking on Start, then typing cmd and hitting enter.
- Change directory to your iRacing installation's updater folder.
- Run iracingupdater -autoinstall
This will launch the updater in a mode that should allow the existing downloaded files to be installed. It is possible that there will be an error at the end of the update process for one of the files. This is OK. Close the updater and login to iRacing normally. At this point you should be able to download any remaining files with the normal process.
Option 2
The other option is to delete the downloads folder located in your iRacing installation and download Required Updates only, then download the rest of the updates after that has completed.
By default, the downloads folder can be found at C:\Program Files (x86)\iRacing\downloads.
